Children's Ministy Director
Tammy Partington
Tammy was raised in a Pentecostal church and was saved when she was around 9 years old. She attended the Ohio State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters in Social Work. Much of her coursework was related to child development. She worked with children in various capacities throughout her college years, from volunteer tutoring and mentoring to employment and an internship in a residential treatment facility for children with severe behavioral problems. While at Ohio State, she was very active in King’s Way Fellowship, which was a college fellowship provided by King Avenue United Methodist Church.

Tammy was the social service chairperson of the fellowship and sang with King’s Way Singers. Through this fellowship, she found her way to the Billy Graham Crusade and was moved to recommit her life to Christ as an adult. She met her husband Tony at a King’s Way Singers outing. Tony was raised in Fredericktown and in this church, so once they got married,  they settled in the area and made Fredericktown UMC their church home. After Tammy graduated with her Master’s, she was employed as a therapist in a day treatment facility for children with emotional and behavioral problems. She worked there until her first daughter, Lauren, was born, and then became a stay at home mom and home childcare provider.

Tammy became active in the nursery and children’s ministry of this church shortly after Lauren's birth. Tony and Tammy have three other children. Jake, Elaina, and Julia. Tammy feels very blessed to have been given the opportunity to serve the Lord and this church as Nursery and Children’s Ministry Director.

Youth Ministry Director
Mike Brake

Mike is an active member of our church family. He and his wife Heather have been busy at FUMC over the last number of years. They have two daughters: Kelsi and Abbi and a son Isaiah. Mike attended church as a child but strayed away from the faith during his teen years. Poor decisions during this point of his life give him even more motivation and inspiration to share the good news with the teens of our church and community. Mike’s passion for young people has already led him to begin ROCCFEST, teach youth Sunday School, and organize many youth programs on a voluntary basis.  “Excited” doesn’t even begin to describe Mike’s feelings about his position.
He is excited about supporting the youth at their school sporting and music events and developing relationships with churched and unchurched teens.
