Our Mission
Buddy Break (Temporarily cancelled, due to Covid-19)
A new ministry for persons with special needs. Takes place on the second Saturday of the month from 9am-1pm.
Caring Connections
Ever have or know a child who had an extended stay at Nationwide Children’s Hospital? Was it hard for them to be away from family and friends? The Fredericktown United Methodist Church, in collaboration with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, is raising funds to purchase “iPad Minis” for children who are in the hospital for extended stays so that they can “Face Time” their family and friends.
Center of Hope
We serve Knox County, Ohio and nearby communities in rural Ohio. Grocery pick-up is from 5:00-6:00 P.M. on Wednesdays in the rear parking lot of Fredericktown UMC. So far this year, we have helped people who live in 8 Ohio counties! https://www.hopeinknox.org/
FACA (Fredericktown Area Church Association)
Our church supports the FACA Bake Sale/Pie Auction during “Christmas in July”, Tree of Sharing, and also donates to Habitat for Humanity,
Interchurch
Our church supports our local Interchurch with financial support and we collect food for the pantry. We also offer support through “The Tree of Sharing” at Christmas.
JAM Jackson Area Ministry Seed Project
JAM is a mission project of The United Methodist Church serving the Appalachian counties of Ohio. JAM Garden Project (Green Thumb Garden Project) in 2009 initiated 3,174 gardens throughout the 19 counties of southeast Ohio. Since the early 1970’s, JAM has been assisting families and individuals in improving their food supply by enabling them to “Grow” their own vegetable gardens.
Monday Night Community Meals
Community meals are served each Monday at the Senior Citizens Building on the square (4th Monday at the Presbyterian Church). Our church prepares a meal and serves on the 1st Monday of the month.
PeaceMeal – Wednesday Evenings @ 5:00 – 6:00 PM (unless otherwise stated)
PeaceMeal is open to the community. During this time, we are offering the meal with curbside pick-up only.
Red Bird Mission
Our church supports missionaries at Red Bird Mission (read more about Red Bird Missionary Conference with their newsletter the “Cardinal-online” ). We also support short term missionaries from our congregation.
Starting Point
A Knox County faith-based nonprofit organization which serves young families struggling with crisis pregnancies and relationship decisions. If you would like to help support this ministry click Here.
UMC Conference Supported Events
Fredericktown UMC has met many challenges from the bishop including quarter challenges, special offerings from the conference, and contributions of church world service kits.
