Mission & Goals
Our Mission Statement: As a body of believers, we will glorify God, by calling others to Christ, nurturing all persons, growing in faith and serving in love.
2009 Goals 1.(a) 75% of our regular attendees will participate in a health and wellness ministry based on the book, The Seven Pillars of Health. 1.(b) As a result of that church-wide study, we will develop at least one new ministry. 2. The leadership team with the help from the congregation will identify who are currently inactive, (i.e. former attendees who are not currently attending OR attendees who choose not to be active in any of the ministries of the church.) We will pray over these members, then, develop a program or programs to help reactivate them into ministries of our church.
2008 FUMC Goals The FUMC will develop and begin a year long e-mail ministry to help meet changing needs of (first year) recent high school grades. The FUMC leadership team will implement a church-wide Bible study curriculum. 50% of church attendees will examine their spiritual growth and set goals for participation in the Bible study curriculum. The Leadership Team will study ways that church ministries can contibute to member's health and wellness.
80% of church attendees will participate in one and 50% of church attendees will participate in two ongoing outreach ministries. In order to meet spiritual needs of young adults, the FUMC will implement at least one of the following: 1. a follow-up ministry for YA’s married in our church. 2. Partnering with FACA, begin a small group Bible Study 3. Begin and expand an e-mail ministry to college students.
The leadership team will study how to implement a church wide Bible study curriculum.
2006 Church Goals
1. 75% of church attendees will participate in at least one of the following two:
B. Members will provide elder care to citizens in the Fredericktown community by participating in a telephone, visitation, or other outreach ministry. 2. Team leaders will research to determine: Spiritual needs of young adults in our community and share with the church how we can help meet those needs--either within our own congregation or in conjunction with other area churches.
2005 Church Goals:
2. In 2005, 80% of the church attendees will expand their knowledge of missions and participate in at least three mission-related activities.
